A Stage of Hindu revivalism is taking a bad shape in India. The so far tolerant Hindu communities have been influenced
by a few extremists to take some extreme steps to stop the growth of Christianity.
The Government is not in favor
of Christian conversions. For those who are returning to Hinduism from among the converts, the Government is providing a lot
of facilities, such as job reservations, housing and business grants non refundable free electrification of houses, free medication
etc.
In addition to allure the converts as such, the extremists threaten the poor converts, that they should return
to Hinduism or will face consequences. A Hindu extremist organization had taken an open vow that they will bring back all
converts to Hinduism. The poor converts face such a severe threat.
YCDC is an organization which is formed to protect
the rights of Converted Christians irrespect of their denominational faith.
As a measure to combat this threat YCDC
had decided to train 20 youths, both boys and girls, for six months and to send them to revive the Christian converts in different
parts of Kerala.
They will be trained in the following areas: 1. Religious Affairs 2. Political Rights 3.
Business Management 4. Cultural Affairs
YCDC is planning to start 10 'Markaz' buildings in 10 centers. (Markaz
means 'study center' in Hebrew)
These 20 youths will be trained at the Central Markaz and will be send to establish
these 10 proposed Markazes.
The classes are expected to start by February 1st, 2005. As a Christian, if you feel to
help us by providing anything, we are more than greatful.
If any Christians wants to come and train these youths,
they are welcome. If you want to come and just see the ground facts, that is also welcomed. And if you want to help us monetarily,
we will appreciate it.
Thank You,
Rev. S. J. Vattappara
